Our Hotel/Resort
- While
in Cozumel on a diving trip, it's hard to beat the service and
location of the Iberostar Resort. Located just a few minutes by
boat from one of the worlds largest coral reefs (Palancar Reef),
the Iberostar Cozumel is the best vacation resort I've ever been
to.

The
Iberostar is the first "all inclusive" resort I've ever
been to, and it was great - you wear a plastic bracelet to identify
you to the staff, and are free to eat and drink all you can. Food
is available somewhere in the resort nearly all day long. There
are several restaurants - and I recommend you make reservations
for the Steak House - the steaks there are delicious!
The
Iberostar the far end of the island from the city - but the taxi
ride is about 15 minutes each way, and costs about $15.00 USD
for the ride (That's the going tourists rate, anyway). In town
there are many little shops that cater to the hordes of people
spending the day in Cozumel from the numerous cruise ships that
port there.
One
of the best things to do in town, if your into this sort of thing,
is to spend your evenings at the famous Carlos and Charlies Bar
& Grill / Senior Frogs Nightclub. No cover, lots of beautiful
people from all over the world to watch and dance with, fun dance
music and plenty of Dos Equis (XX) Beer to help lubricate your
dancofibulators. You can stay out here 'till 2am on most days,
and 4am on Friday and Saturday.
Another
good thing to do in town, is to find the local bank and get some
cash out of the ATM, since there is no ATM outside of town (ie:
at the Iberostar).
Visit
the Iberostar Cozumel Homepage - A fairly basic page with
generic information about the resort.
Take
a Virtual Tour of the Iberostar Cozumel - Here is a page
that uses IPIX technology to give you a virtual tour of the Iberostar
resort. The servers appear to be in Spain, so the connection is
pretty slow state-side. I recommend this link only for those with
high-speed connections.
